SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corporation) is the privately owned, US space and telecommunications company of Elon Musk. He founded the company in June 2002 with the aim of colonising Mars and spreading life to other planets. Within a few years, SpaceX established itself as the world leader in satellite launches and became a major supplier to the International Space Station (ISS). Since May 2020, SpaceX has also been carrying out manned space flights, initially for NASA to the ISS. From 2021, it should also be possible to transport space tourists into space. With the Starlink project for global satellite Internet access, the company is also the world's largest private satellite manufacturer and operator.
